Are Liverpool already in Europa?
Last night Robby Fowler tweeted asking that question. His reasoning was that Cardiff though they play in an English league is a Welsh FA team so they are not eligible for Europa. He said back in the day that is what he had been told.
Is he correct are we in Europa league win or lose or is he mistaken? I am still holding out for a top 4 finish so I still hope we make Champions league but either one will do.
Can anyone shed some light on this thanks

The winners qualify for the UEFA Europa League, unless they have qualified for the Champions League through their league position, in which case the Europa League berth goes to the highest-placed team from the Premier League not already qualified for Europe
So to answer your question, if we win Carling Cup, we are at least in the Europa League. But why is a welsh club in the Championship?
No Clue but Swansea is also a Welsh club playing in an English league

I don't see the logic
If they can both play in England, why can’t Celtic or Rangers?
They won’t dominate like in Scotland, but surely it would be better to compete with teams than just win pretty much every game. Though an old firm games are brutal.
I am not convinced that Celtic or Rangers could compete in the Premiership
I think they would be hovering around the relegation zone. Although, the money injection might help them keep their better players from leaving.

Celtic and Rangers
Both are good physical sides with a history. It would be interesting to watch them adapt, and if they would get away with their tackling in an old firm game. They have a better argument to play in England, than Swansea or Cardiff. They would bully teams until they developed, a bit like Stoke.
It would be interesting
But it is hard to compare since the leagues are so different. I say it because you rarely see them make a deep run in a Champions League, especially these days.

Is there a Welsh premiership?
Maybe Celtic and Rangers would rather stay in Scotland than sully themselves going south?

I'm pretty sure there is
I remember playing the winner of the Welsh League in Champions League qualifications one year. I think it was 05 when we entered as the lowest possible seed because we finished 5th in the league but won in Istanbul. That was the compromise since everyone was up in arms about the cup winners not having the chance to defend it.

EUFA europa leage has some crazy rules
and some crazy qualification scenarios from the EPL. But none of the Carling Cup commentators have said this – they kept saying winner of the final. I have to think Robbie is wrong here – repeating some bad information or a joke or outdated or something.
Bye Travis and thanks for 2010! Good luck with the Brewers!
