Yes, seriously, you read that correctly. Surprisingly, Liverpool actually asked about swapping Carroll for Tevez. Honestly, it's not a deal I would expect LFC to propose at all but, financially, it makes sense.
There is no way any team in Europe is going to pay £35 million for Andy Carroll. He has no market value. Tevez, on the other hand, is a proven game changer but he has also proven that he is a training room cancer. It would be a pretty low risk move: Dump the failed experiment that is Andy Carroll, squeeze as much football as possible out of Tevez before he goes AWOL and then flip him to Italy, PSG or anyone for a decent amount of money (even if it's not the full £35 mil they paid for AC, I'd say getting back £25-30 for Tevez would be a success considering how huge a failure AC has been and the fact that they are never going to be able to recoup their losses on him, otherwise).
Obviously City were never going to accept that but it was worth a try.
